STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Wednesday, April 30.

Congrats to the men's track team, who beat Tecumseh last night 86-50.   The thin lads have now not lost a dual meet in more than 4 years!  Jacob Stubbs, Michael Smith, and Noah Van Reesema all were multiple event winners, and Noah's 6'1" high jump makes him among the top ten best all time at Chelsea.  Next Tuesday we host also unbeaten Lincoln, as the SEC Championship week ensues.  Come on down and support spring's most exciting sport.

For those driving to prom this Saturday, please bring a few dollars to tip the valet at Cottonwood Barn. All proceeds will be donated to Faith in Action.

Come join us for the SLS after prom party. It will be on May 3 after prom, from 11 PM to 2 AM at Chelsea Lanes. Bowling and shoe rental is free, there will be free pizza pop, and water, and the entire Chelsea High School is invited to attend. The entire night is free, you can bowl as long as you want from 11 PM to 2 AM and there will be prizes from local businesses such as Smokehouse 52, Quality 16, Twisters given throughout the evening. Hope to see you there. 

If you don't purchase your yearbook before May 5th, then there is no guarantee that you will receive one on distribution day in August.  Prices will also increase on May 5th, so if you want a yearbook, now is the time!  Please go to jostensyearbooks.com and buy your yearbook today!

Any students interested in learning and playing Ultimate Frisbee are invited to a meeting after school Wednesday in room 217. No experience required! Contact Ian Brinklow or Mr. Arons with any questions.

The U.S. Army will be visiting next Wednesday.  Sign up in the Counseling Office.

Attention National Honor Society Juniors- It is mandatory that you sign up for Tag Day for May 9 or May 10.  The sign-up sheet is in your Haiku.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Mitchell.

Attention Seniors! Our days here at CHS are ending. Let all of your friends know how much you are going to miss them. Write your wills and misses and submit them to chsbleuprint@gmail.com by May 9.

Sophomores and juniors:  Link Crew applications are due on Wednesday, April 30. The online application is available on the Link Crew web page. For more information, see Mr. Arons, Mr. French, Ms Wismont, or Ms Conklin.

Students - for all of you who did not purchase prom tickets this week, we will have ONE more day for you to purchase them next week. Please bring your cash or check made out to CHS on Wednesday, April 30, during lunch to buy your tickets.  Please note, we DO NOT sell tickets at the door, you must be on the list to get into prom so you must purchase tickets during Wednesday’s lunch or you won't be able to join us for all the fun at Cottonwood Barn on May 3.

The 2014 art extravaganza is happening this Sunday at the Chelsea Center for the Arts from 1-3 pm.  The show will include work from k-12 students in the Chelsea Public Schools.  If you have a chance, come see some amazing pieces and support your local student artists!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Monday, April 21.

The Chelsea Girl's Track team won the 2014 Chelsea Relays on Thursday.  The ladies defeated an impressive field of 6 other teams.  The team travels to Dexter tomorrow to take on the Dreadnaughts, so come on over to cheer on our talented team in this SEC showdown. 

Attention all current senior football players:  There will be a very important meeting after school on Wednesday. The meeting will be from 3-310pm in the weight room.  Information regarding the LaFave Scholarship will be handed out at that time.  Questions see Coach Bush.
The amount of trash left behind in the cafeteria, as well as on the hallways floors, has increasingly become worse over the past few weeks.  Please continue to take pride in the appearance of Chelsea High School and do you part to keep it clean. Thank you.

Attention Seniors:   Think you are funny?   Have you been called a class clown?  Do you have a witty sense of humor?  If you answered yes, then see Mrs. Weber for an application for the Simply Comedy Scholarship.    This is a scholarship to be awarded to the funniest person in the Class of 2014 at CHS.
The deadline for the Chelsea Education Foundation college scholarship application is tomorrow April 22nd.   Scholarships are awarded in several specific areas of study, including engineering, nursing, teaching, entrepreneurship, culinary arts, and other fields, as well as general service and merit awards.  One online application covers all the different scholarships and may be accessed from the Counseling Office Website.
The deadline for the O'Quinn Family Edward Jones Scholarship is this Friday April, 25th.  This scholarship as an opportunity for students who plan to enter an accredited four-year college or university, desire to study business, and who have developed a cursory understanding of the importance of ethical behavior in business.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.
The Chelsea Lions Club Service Award application deadline is April 30th.  This yearly award is given to two recipients for their service to the community, their school, town, place of worship, a Lions club, or any combination.   Applications are available in the Counseling Office.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors:  Link Crew is accepting applications for Link Leaders for the 2014-15 school year. There will be information meetings on Wednesday, at 7:30 am and 3:00 pm in Mr. French's room.  Applications are available online through the Chelsea School District Website. Please see Mr. Arons, Mr. French, Ms Wismont, or Ms Conklin if you have any questions.

 There will be a College Fair for sophomores and juniors this Wednesday evening at Saline High School from 6:30-8:00 pm.  Over 75 colleges will be represented.

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Thursday, April 17.

Today the track squads host the Chelsea Relays right after school.   Come down and support the thinclads in spring's most exciting sport.   There is an open 2 mile run at 4 PM where everyone can participate.   Come race Mr. Swager and Mr. Finger in this exciting event. 

A reminder to members of Key Club:  Our annual Easter egg hunt is this Saturday at the Chelsea Retirement Community on Middle Street.  We need all Key Club members to come out and hide eggs and host this fun event.  Hope to see everyone at CRC on Saturday, April 19th at 9am.

The CHS equestrian team will have their round up meeting tonight at 630p in the media center.

Are you looking for a community service opportunity?  This Saturday April, 19th from 9 to 11 a.m. volunteer to help pick up debris from a section of I-94 between Dancer Rd. and Fletcher Rd. with Kathy Hay.   Student involvement in past years has made this community service a success.  Volunteers will meet at the Stiver's parking lot and be transported from there.  For more information see Mrs. Weber in the Counseling Office.

The scholarship application deadline for the Kevin Bollinger Wrestling Memorial Scholarship and the Kevin Bollinger Conservation Memorial Scholarship is today.   These scholarships are available for any post-secondary education, including vocational, technical, two year and four year degree.  Application forms are available in the Counseling Office.

Attention students: Matchmakers are being sold during lunches this week for only $2. Buy yours and find out what the spring will bring for you!

Tennis practice is canceled, soccer practice is 500-700p in the CHS gym and softball practice is 315-515p in the CHS gym.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Thursday, April 3.

There is a Key Club meeting on Friday April 4 at 7:30am  in room 116. Please bring your ideas for an activity for May, our last of the school year.  Remember that if you are interested in being a Key Club officer next year, you need to talk to EJ Lin or Ms. Segal before Friday.

Students - find out what new relationships this spring may have in store for you!  This week during your fourth hour you will be filling out the annual Matchmaker Survey!  Buy your printout during lunch the week we return from Spring Break and see who in your grade has similar interests and values! 


Attention CHS!  Would you like to help plan the after prom party?  There will be a meeting for anyone interested on Friday morning at 7:30 in the media center. Snacks will be provided, and seniors, if you need community service hours, this is a great opportunity.
