CHS ANNOUNCEMENTS
01/26/14

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Monday, January 26.

Give a great big ‘Go Bulldogs’ to the CHS Theater Guild's One Act cast and crew for taking first place at the MIFA District theatre competition this past Saturday.  Congratulations!

The bowling team should be dismissed today at 2:05 for their meet in Adrian.

Art club will be cancelled this Tuesday, January 27.

Seniors:  The Josee L. Alvarez Memorial Scholarship is awarding $1,500 to a graduating Chelsea High School senior this year.  The application deadline is March 17th.  See the Counseling Office scholarships web page for more information and the link for the online application.

Attention Senior Wrestlers:  The Kevin J. Bollinger Memorial Wrestling Scholarship application form is available in the Counseling Office.   This scholarship is available for any post-secondary education, including vocational, technical, two year and four year degree.  Don't miss out on this scholarship opportunity.

Attention Sophomores:  As you schedule for next year, you may be concerned that the ACT class elective will no longer be relevant. We are aware of the State's proposed change to the SAT as the required test and, if necessary, will adapt the ACT class to prepare you for both tests.

Next week during lunch Student Council will be running a can drive. Cans will be donated at lunch and by grade. Proceeds go to Motts children's hospital and the winning grade will get points added to their Winter Carnival total.

The sophomore class student council representatives will be selling your class of 2017 t-shirts during lunches today and Tuesday for $10.00.   Buy one so you are ready for winter carnival spirit week!!!

Bring a can of soup or other food item to lunch any day this week and help your team win the Souper Bowl of Caring.  Each canned food item will give the Seahawks or Patriots a point (Or you can throw your support behind our home team).  We will tally the points at the end of each day and announce a Souper Bowl winner on Friday.  Then we can see if we correctly picked the winner of Sunday's game.  All soup and canned food items will be donated to Faith In Action.

Who is your perfect love match?  Who are your best friend matches?  Do you know which celebrities share your birthday or major events that occurred on that day?  You can find all of this out the week of Valentine's but first you MUST fill out a matchmaker form online.  There is a link in your e-mail that takes you to the online matchmaker form.  If you haven't done so, please fill out the form by today.

There will be a World Language Club meeting on Wednesday at 7:45 am in Mr.Forsberg's room. We will be discussing the Short Film Festival at the DIA, if you’re planning on going you must come to the meeting or talk to Mr.Forsberg. The meeting should only take 5 minutes.
