CHS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Monday, March 16.

The Chelsea Swim and Dive Team completed another wonderful season and placed 2nd at the D3 State Championships.  The team traveled to Oakland University this past weekend to compete in the State Championships.  Chelsea surpassed expectations scoring an amazing 299.5 points.  Chelsea set 7 varsity records and placed 28 performances during the course of the meet.  Chelsea was the only team to place at least one athlete in each of the 12 events.  Chelsea had 12 All State Performances, 2 State Champions:  Joey Mangner in the 50yd Freestyle and Joe Smith in the 1 meter Diving competition and  3 All America Qualifications.  The 200yd medley relay of Kurt Jolly, Philipi Lopes, Sam Almhiemid and Joey Mangner qualify for All America along with the 200yd Freestyle relay of Joey Mangner, Carter Engler, Max Lonnemo and Philipi Lopes.  Individually, Sam Almhiemid qualified in the 100yd Butterfly..  It was a tremendous effort by a bunch of home grown, hard working young men that care about each other like brothers.  Well done boys!

Attention NHS Members:  We still need a few more volunteers for the Ag banquet on Thursday.  See Haiku for the sign-up link.  Also, if you have a volunteer form for the iPad project or blood donor cards, please turn them in to Mrs. Holmes this week.

Are you interested in becoming a foreign exchange student?  The AFS Intercultural Programs will have a representative here on March 19th at 9:30.  Sign up in the counseling office.

Attention Seniors :  The Chelsea Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications.  The online application link is on the Counseling Office website under Class of 2015 information.  This is a chance to apply for several local scholarship opportunities provided by local businesses and community members.  You must apply no later than 3:00 p.m. April, 15th.

The Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Ann Arbor offers several one-year, $500 - $2,000 educational scholarships, awarded to young people who reside in Washtenaw County and who possess a strong desire to gain further education in a construction related field at a community college, trade school, university, or apprenticeship training program.  Applications are due by March 20th and are available in the Counseling Office.
