Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Monday, April 20.
Congrats to the men's track team who took 1st of 9 teams at Friday's Chelsea Invitational. The 4x 200 relay team of Skogheim, Edwards, Nelson, and McDowell ran the 5th fastest time in school history, while the 4x400 Relay and 4x800 Relays also took Gold. Thanks to all the fans who came down to support us on a beautiful day.
The Chelsea Girls' track team placed second at the Chelsea Relays on Friday. Leading the way were and taking home first were the hurdle relay of Hannah Almheimid, Tori Dennis, Kaehla Manly, and Laney Miller. Also taking first in the Kruse Medley Relay were Tori Dennis, Laura McGrath, Sydney Matusik, and Laney Miller. In the field events, the pole vault relay of Christine Schultz and Sydney Hodel took home the gold. Nice job ladies!!
There will be a volleyball meeting for those planning on playing this fall on Wednesday morning at 7:35 in the Health Room. Please see Coach Cleveland if there are any questions.
Attention Seniors: There are several scholarship application deadlines this week. The deadline for the Chelsea Education Foundation scholarship application is Friday, April 24. One online application covers several different local scholarships and may be accessed from the Counseling Office Website.
Attention current 10th and 11th grade students. Link Crew is looking for dynamic, responsible, and caring students to serve as Link Leaders for next year. If you are interested in applying to be a Link Leader, please come to one of the informational meetings in Mr. French's room on Tuesday, April 21st at 7:40am or after school at 3:00pm. We will begin accepting online applications on Monday, April 20th. Click on the "Link Crew" link under "Clubs and Activities" on the Chelsea High School Web Page. If you enjoy an intellectual challenge consider MI MENTORSHIPS. Gifted & Talented students in grades 10-12 can spend 8 hours between June 25rd & Aug 20 with a mentor on the U-M campus. Students will experience exciting research opportunities and learn how to prepare for a career in a specific area. Last summer students had mentors in engineering, English, science and the arts. For more information see Mrs. Weber in the in Counseling Office. Applications are due by May 5th.
The Freshman Student Council is selling flowers to recognize graduating seniors and to honor influential teachers. The sale is open to all students, faculty and staff. Flowers are $2 and order forms are due by Friday, April 24th. Flowers will be delivered the week of May 18th during 4th hour. Please see any Freshman council representative or stop by room 212 to place your order.
Juniors and Seniors! Prom-posals are due to firstname.lastname@example.org today. Send you pictures of how you are asking that special someone in to possibly win two free tickets to prom. Prom tickets will be sold in all lunches and before and after school in Mrs. Bareis’ room until April 24. Let us deal you in on May 2nd at the Comfort Inn Conference Center. This will be a night you will never forget!
There will be a World Language Club meeting this Wednesday, April 22nd, at 7:40 am in Mr.Forsberg's room. We will discuss the last events we'd like to plan for this year.
