Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Thursday, January 28.

Congrats to the Chelsea Wrestlers who defeated the Huron River Rats 72-6.  Getting big wins were Jacob Jacobusse, Corbyn Munson, Tristan Koch, Quinton Clark, and Hunter Adams. Nice job boys. 

Students this is a reminder that your 2016-2017 course selections must be submitted online no later than today at 4:00 pm. Your course request form with parent signature and appropriate applications are due to your 5th hour teacher on Friday.

Planning for college is complex.  How can you help provide for your education without sacrificing your parent's retirement savings or overburdening yourself with student debt?  Chelsea District Library will be hosting a College Planning Workshop on Wednesday, February 3rd from 7 to 8 pm.  It is tailored for families with students in grades 7-12 and students are encouraged to attend.   Space is limited, so reserve your seat today!

Attention seniors:  American 1 Credit Union Community Involvement Scholarship rewards students for their involvement in their communities.  Each student who applies for the scholarship must submit an essay, in 1,500 words or less, on the benefits of altruism and how the student has impacted his or her community through their involvement.   Applications are available in the counseling office and must be submitted by Friday, February 26.

Senior quote time is here so make sure to send those in! There will be a yearbook representative in all three lunches on Friday or you can also email your quote to  If you have any questions ask Ayla Raye- Leonard, Shaunna Caffrey, or Phoebe Clacher.

HOSA, The Future Health Care Professional's student organization Region 3 conference was held at Jackson College on Saturday January 23rd.  When you see these students, congratulate them on their achievements:  Ally MacDonald and Kiersten Stehlik won silver in the HOSA quiz bowl event and Meagan O'Hara was in the top 10 in Medical Terminology. All three students advance to the State competitions in Traverse City in April.
