Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Tuesday, October 11.

Congratulations to your CHS Marching Band on their first division rating yesterday as they performed at the MSBOA District Marching Band Festival at John Glenn HS in Westland.  The Bulldog Band earned top grades in the areas of music, marching, and overall general effect from all of the judges.

Attention all students who are signed up for the career exploration trip to Baker College.  Please turn in your signed permission slip into the counseling office by tomorrow (Wednesday).   We must have them by tomorrow.

The 19th annual “Just Build It Career Expo” will be held on Wednesday, October 26th in the Eastern Michigan University Field House.  This is a hands-on career exploration experience with many presenters and live demonstrations.  Imagine climbing a 2 story vertical column, operating drones in simulated engineering and construction projects, creating an interior design, operating construction equipment using simulators, talking to engineers about design principles, laying a brick wall, soldering pipes or beating a master carpenter in a spike driving contest. These are but a few of the many exhibits and presenters you will be exposed to at the “Just Build It Career Expo” at EMU. At the end of your experience a free pizza lunch and t-shirts will be provided. There are limited spaces left. Come to the counseling office and sign up ASAP to attend this highly recommended event.

Hear ye! Hear ye!  Free Cottage Inn pizza and pop on Wednesday, Oct. 12 for those attending “Lunchtime Career Talks” in the choir room.  We will welcome Laura Wetzel, a Nurse Anesthetist at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.

There will be a Spanish club meeting on Thurs. Oct. 13th at 7:35 a.m. in Mrs. Cole's room. Students who would like to buy a fun Spanish Club t-shirt but haven't yet, be sure to bring your money! Also, come prepared to start planning our fall event.

Want to get a bit of culture without having to travel across continents?  Come on down to Mrs. Sinacola’s
room 134 for an informational meeting regarding a trip to Chicago this Wednesday at 7:45.  All are welcome!
