Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Friday, September 22.

Attention Students:  Each year, almost 40,000 high school students in grades 9 thru 12 compete in the Voice of Democracy Scholarship competition for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, American History: Our Hope for the Future.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office and are due no later than November 1st.

The following college will be visiting next week:
Monday - Grand Valley State University
Tuesday- Concordia University
Wednesday - Miami University of Ohio
Thursday - University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Sign up in the Counseling Office

Any girls who are going out for track and field that are not in a fall sport, please note there is conditioning from 3:15 to 4:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's at the outdoor track with Coach Kruse. If you have questions, please see Coach Rodriguez in room 132.

You don't have to be an expert to join the Chess Club at CHS! We offer a great environment for beginning and intermediate chess players to learn one of the oldest games in the world. Stop by Mr. Moundros' room 220 for more information on Wednesday morning starting at 7:25AM.

Don’t forget that tonight is our annual color blast!  Show up to the student parking lot at 6:00p and the blast will start promptly at 6:15p.  Make sure to wear all white.  See you there!

Attention all students and staff.  Our fundraising efforts for the American Red Cross are coming to an end in about an hour..  Please reach into your pockets and purses RIGHT NOW and donate as much as you can to this disaster relief organization. Thanks to everyone who has already generously donated to help make this fundraiser a success. 

Attention all writers:  Creative Writing Club meets Tuesday from 3:00-4:00 in Mrs. Putnam's room.  Bring your current writing project or come for some writing inspiration. 

There will be a yearbook meeting on Monday, September 25 in room 232 after school. If you are interested, it is not too late to join! It is very important that all club members attend this meeting.  We will be making page assignments. Pizza will be provided.   We hope to see you there.

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Wednesday, September 20.

Congratulations to the JV volleyball team for defeating Lincoln last night 2-0 and to the Varsity team for defeating
 Lincoln 3-0.  The team is now 6-1 in the SEC White.

Any girls who are going out for track and field that are not in a fall sport, please note there is conditioning from 3:15 to 4:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday's at the outdoor track with Coach Kruse. If you have questions, please see Coach Rodriguez in room 132.

All girls interested in playing tennis, there will be a meeting on Thursday in Coach Pedlow's room at 7:45.  That's all tennis girls- 7:45, Thursday, room 110.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all students who are taking an online course today at the start of 5th hour in the media center.  Students should report to their 5th hour class for attendance and an announcement will then be made to dismiss you to the media center.  Please see Mr. Morris if you have any questions.

Attention all students and staff!  As you know, hurricanes Harvey and Irma have devastated parts of our country.  The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing shelter, food and other support to victims of disasters.  Let's show the people of Texas and Florida some Chelsea love by donating generously to the Red Cross.  Donation containers are in most classrooms and the counseling office until Friday.

Any girls that are interested in being a part of a gymnastics club, please come to the athletic office for more information.

The Science Olympiad team will have an informational meeting after school at 2:50p in the Media Center.

There will be a bio club meeting in room 226 Thursday before school at 7:40.  Anyone interested in participating should attend, new members welcome!

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Tuesday, September 19.

All girls interested in playing tennis, there will be a meeting on Thursday in Coach Pedlow's room at 7:45.  That's all tennis girls- 7:45, Thursday, room 110.

There will be a wrestling meeting in room 213 tomorrow morning at 7:30.  See Mr. French if you are unable to attend.

Chelsea High School will offer the PSAT test to high school juniors on Wednesday, October 11th during the school day.  Cost is $16.00.   To register for the test visit the CHS Guidance/Counseling Office website or check your school email for the registration link.  The deadline is Friday, September 22.  This is the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for entry to the 2019 National Merit Program.  If you are planning on attending college, you should take this test!

Lunchtime Career Talks begin this Wednesday with Arlene Kofahl. Mrs. Kofahl has extensive experience in nursing and related medical fields. Currently, she is an instructor of students pursuing careers in nursing. If you are considering a career in any health profession, this will be an important career talk for you to attend.  Come to the choir room (400) at the beginning of your lunch period.  As usual, free lunch will be served including pizza, pop, salad, fruit and cookies.  Everyone is welcome.

There will be a mandatory meeting for all students who are taking an online course this Wednesday at the start of 5th hour in the media center.  Students should report to their 5th hour class for attendance and an announcement will then be made to dismiss you to the media center.  Please see Mr. Morris if you have any questions.

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Monday, September 18.

Congrats to the men’s XC team who won a pair of trophies over the weekend.   The varsity finished 2nd out of 42 teams in the Spartan Elite division at the MSU invitational, while the JV guys took 2nd in the varsity race at New Boston.
