CHS ANNOUNCEMENTS
01/24/17

Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Tuesday, January 24.

Students this is an important Scheduling update concerning English Electives.  Please note that Writing for Publication A, B and C is available to sign up for next year.  The English department will now offer this course every year.  It can be taken multiple trimesters (A, B, and/or C) and would be a great chance to sharpen your writing and contribute to The Bleu Print.

Attention Seniors:  Scholarship opportunities have been added to the counseling website and are being posted outside the Counseling Office door.  Don't miss out, apply early!

Join us on Wednesday for Lunchtime Career Talks in our NEW LOCATION: the orchestra room (402). We will welcome Jackie Bastion, Graphic Designer. Come and enjoy pizza, cookies, fruit and pop while you learn about careers in graphic design and marketing.

Attention all music lovers!  Chelsea choirs are hosting chamber choir auditions on Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00p in the choir room.  Learn about what it means to be in a community of fun-loving individuals making music all year round.  This event is for everyone interested in joining chamber choir, bella voce or troubadours or who wish to know more about Chelsea choirs.

Soon it will be Valentine's Day, so that means it’s Matchmaker time! Please complete a Match-o-matic questionnaire so that you can be included in the fun. You will find the Match-o-matic survey link in a block on the CHS Connections page in your Haiku. The survey deadline is Wednesday, January 25th, so don't delay!

The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) will be meeting today after school in the counseling office.  Come see what we are all about.  We are meeting every Tuesday after school from 3:00-4:00 in the counseling office.  Please see Mrs. Morris or Mrs. Bickel for more details.  We hope to see you there!

There will be a Key Club meeting on Friday January 27 at 7:30 in room 116.

Coach Forsch is very proud of the Science Olympiad team who came together at the Clio Invitational to earn 2nd's in Experimental Design, Forensics and Rocks & Minerals.  Thirds were earned in Ecology and Optics. Other top scores were in Write It Do It, Invasive Species, Materials Science and GameOn.  They did this while 2 of their senior members were absent and competing with 19 other schools !  Go Science Team!
