Good afternoon students and staff, here are the announcements for Monday, February 13.

This weekend the varsity wrestlers competed at DeWitt High School in the Individual Districts. Six wrestlers qualified for Regionals this Saturday at Eaton Rapids. Congrats to Micheal Barnes who took 4th at 135 pounds, Reed Aldrich who took 4th at 189 pounds and also had the most exciting match of the day winning in the last 30 seconds of his match when he was down 4 points.  Gus Reynolds and Nickolas Matusko took 2nd at 160 pounds and 125 pounds respectively. Winning their weight classes were Jacob Jacobusse and Corbyn Munson.  Nice work men. Wish the wrestlers good luck as they attempt to qualify for state Saturday.

The Holt JV tournament was the final competition of the year for the JV wrestlers. The JV wrestlers collectively wrestled 50 matches on Saturday. 1st Place finishers were Tyler Hochrein, Daniel Golding, Ethan Corkin-Howell, and Noah Holton. Brandon deGracia finished in 2nd place.  Josiah Fitch finished in 3rd placed. Nice work men, thank you for all your hard work this season!

Any athletes interested in being a jumper on the track team this spring should attend a brief meeting in Mr. Rodriguez's room on Tuesday February 14th, at 7:45 am.  This meeting is for anyone interested in long jump, high jump, or pole vault.  We are looking forward to seeing all Chelsea track jumpers on Tuesday. 

Join us on Wednesday for Lunchtime Career Talks in the orchestra room (402). We will welcome Matt Kohn, Head Football Coach at Siena Heights University and former professional NFL player. Come and enjoy pizza, cookies, fruit and pop while you learn about careers in professional sports, coaching and sports management.

Attention all current and new National Honor Society members.  Do not forget that the induction ceremony is this Wednesday evening.  It begins promptly at 7:00pm in the auditorium.

Nominations for Winter Carnival are open on Haiku.  Go to the extras tab and vote for your class representatives!

Matchmaker survey results are in! Student Council will be selling your personalized results sheet for $2 at every lunch through next Wednesday. Come see who your perfect match is, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Do you like cold water and polar bears?  Then come join us for the annual Polar Plunge  at the UofM stadium on Friday, February 24 at 6:00p.  You must be registered in advance and all are welcome.  An awards ceremony catered by Buffalo Wild Wings follows.  See Ms. Segal, Mrs. Fillion or Olivia Outhwaite to register.  Futher information may be found on

Congratulations to the amazing cast and crew of CHS Theater Guild for their amazing regional performance on Saturday. The students were awarded 11 excellence and superior awards by the judges, and earned a spot to move on to the State One Act Competition. This team is the first to make it to State Finals in 9 years. Please wish them luck as they travel to Charlotte this Friday and Saturday for the State Competition.
